The Common Art Centre is pleased to present the artist Ye Henggui's personal exhibition "Inspires the Ordinary", which displays a number of works created by the artist in the past ten years, including the artist's "daily landscape" and the "urban landscape" series, etc., showing the ordinary life in the artist's vision. The exhibition was planned by the famous curator Du Xiyun.

Ye Henggui "abandoned" the theme and concept, focussing on common objects in ordinary life. The works in this exhibition are between figurative and abstract, emphasising the charm of visual ontology.

On-site speech by curator Du Xiyun

"This exhibition is a centralised display of Ye Henggui's works in the past ten years. In this era of super landscape, many people yearn for the 'strangeness' of the retina, but Ye Henggui did the opposite. He focuses on the daily, trivial and messy scenes that we turn a blind eye to and even look down on, but they are actually our real life itself. Ye Henggui is also very bold. Since life is fragmented, he emphasises this sense of fragmentation and chaos in the composition. But after these miscellaneous fragments were processed by him, they became interesting and interesting, which made us feel that there were many touching things in ordinary life worth living.

Ye Henggui was admitted to the third studio of the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts with first place in his major. His visual talent and cultivation are very high. When he moved the trivial and messy scenes that people didn't care about in daily life into the picture, he had a very intriguing interest. His works need to be experienced quietly and slowly..."

On-site speech by Artist Ye Henggui

"Thank you very much for coming to my exhibition site. Thank you for the gallery, Ms Bao Yu, and also thank the curator Du Xiyun for his explanation and support. This exhibition is about 50 or 60 works I have selected in my creation in the past ten years. If you want me to briefly explain my creative concept, that is, as long as the scene I accidentally encounter triggers my desire to express myself, I will be desperate to express it. There are no ideas, no artistic topics, only If you want to have a sporadic idea, put it into my canvas.

Why did I do this? Regardless of the method, the theme, or even the style. Because in this way, I can blur myself. I hope to see if "I" still exists in the picture after blurring myself. If it exists, I feel very gratified. If it doesn't exist, just do something else. That's all I have to say today. Thank you again!"

On-site speech by Ms Bao Yu, co-founder of the Common Art Centre

"Mr Ye, like a treasure, has been precipitating for a decade. Now we only understand the tip of his iceberg. The charming colours and ordinary perspectives in his works, the calmness of beauty, and the subtlety of sketching all make us feel a different cure. Today, you can also see that Mr Ye hides all the culture, concepts and information in the work through his works, which is a very brave thing. I hope that our common art centre will have the honour to accompany Mr Ye for a longer journey, discover more and better works, and present his wonderfulness from a different perspective. I also hope that our exhibition can be watched and disseminated by more people. Thank you for your attention to our exhibition.

"The words are amazing and endless. It is the inner law of art games. Give up the theme and concept, and look for a place that touches him in ordinary space and ordinary time. Ye Henggui seems to be simple and returns to the original. In fact, he chose a more difficult artistic direction.

The opening scene

"The reality has always been miscellaneous and even ridiculous. Ye Henggui's paintings collect all the ordinary trivial and ordinary absurd photos, but after various visual magic processing, this frame of image is transparent, clear and calm. Ordinary, trivial, mediocre and absurd, is the real situation we have no choice but to face; but transparency, clarity and calmness are caused by mentality and interest, which is closely related to life experience and cultivation.

"Specifically in Ye Henggui's picture, this mentality, interest, experience and cultivation are also reflected in the painting ability that has been tempered for many years. All kinds of ingenious and unique and painstaking, hidden in the calm nature and randomness."

640-12.jpegThe opening scene

"In the era of cool landscapes competing for wonders and beauty, Ye Henggui once again makes the broken, dim, chaotic and turbid ordinary life worthy of attention without the help of themes and concepts. They are still trivial and disorderly in his picture, but the energy is radiant, lively and even shining, revealing the high difficulty of these paintings.
