Joint exhibition "TOGETHER"
It was officially opened at 16:00 on February 26, 2023!
Preface
This is a world where all people are connected, and we are making all choices about the future together.
From the emergence of personal computers in the late 1970s to the hotly discussed ChatGPT today, the technology and external living environment have developed rapidly in the past two decades, and the distinction between the old and the new is becoming blurred. Children and grandpa are facing new technologies, new models, new products and the new future they bring.
"Together" is the opening exhibition of the Common Art Center in 2023. In this exhibition, Chen Zijun, Kang Lei, Wu Song and Ye Henggui; Feng Zhengquan, Jin Junjie, Zhuang Hongyi; Du Qiurei, Li Jiliang, pacowhy, Quanneng, Shen Na, TUTUTU, Tian Xiaolei, You Wendi, Zhang Changjiang, Zhang Yong, Zi Peng; Eighteen artists presented their latest works together. From the international to the domestic, from the 1960s to the 1990s, from the exploration of artistic language, the expression of abstract space to electronic and fashion popular culture, from classical tradition to modern media, from art to life.
Myth, classical, fairy tale, animation, machine, virtual, different images, inorganic and organic, one by one. Art is also receiving the impact of technology and consumer culture, the proliferation of screens and information, and the unlimited satisfaction of images and entertainment. In the process of exploring art, it is forming a new reflection rule of reality and the future. We try to find infinite and diverse contrasts in the exhibition and present them in harmony.
We can't predict what the world will be like ten or twenty years from now - we are all protagonists. Inheritance, upbringing, model, idol, worldly affairs, human feelings, trend, power, desire, will, temperament and belief, we have forged ourselves in a multiple game. Artists interact with society through creation to create new ways of expression and new rules of life.

OPENING CEREMONY
Under the auspices of Ms. Gao Kun, the curator, the opening ceremony of the exhibition "The Common Law TOGETHER" officially began. The artist Mr. Zhuang Hongyi, the artist Mr. Ye Henggui, the artist Ms. Kang Lei, the artist Ms. Shen Na and the co-founder of the Common Art Center Ms. Bao Yu and other guests attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches on the spot.
Curator Gao Kun
Good afternoon, everyone. I’m so surprise to see so many friends today. Thank you for your support.
This solo exhibition is the annual exhibition of the Common Art Center, because of the Covid-19 was postponed from December 2022 to today. The annual exhibition is divided into three categories: art language sorting under the academic system; The representation of expanding the space of material nature in abstract creation; And contemporary art under the influence of popular culture. All the works on display are the artist's latest creations and recent important works. The reason why this exhibition is named "TOGETHER" is that when we are preparing for the exhibition, it is in the post-epidemic era, and in the current art world, new "rules" are gradually emerging. Therefore, we integrate the artistic language under the academic system, the spatial relationship of abstractionism, and the inheritance and fusion of popular culture, and integrate artists from the old to the new, from the original to the future expression of technology, from art to philosophy of life, it will be presented to you at the same time. Finally, it will show a new “survival rule “of art. I hope that all guests today can get some new inspiration and beauty enjoyment through the exhibition. Thank you.
Artist Zhuang Hongyi
I feel that the atmosphere of our exhibition today is very special, and I haven't felt this vigorous and positive feeling for a long time.
In the past period of time, Bao Yu always introduced the current situation of China to me. Now the route of the common art center is also closely connected with the international community. On the one hand, there are works of highly academic museum-level artists. On the other hand, her exhibition layout is very professional. We can see that in the exhibition hall, from the more realistic works to the less graphic works, there will be some abstract concepts in the end. The choice of this change is very professional. Congratulations to your team. What surprises me more is that there are many new and cutting-edge young artists in Asia, which proves that we have a very broad international vision gradually. I also wish Bao Yu, and I hope your team can succeed and go further and further. Thank you!
First of all, I would like to thank you very much for this opportunity, and I am very happy to meet many new friends and communicate with you. I feel that the popularity of this exhibition is very hot, I hope this exhibition goes well, thank you.
Thank you all for coming here today. This exhibition can be said to be a record of the whole year of the Common Art Center, and I think it shows a very rich art ecology, whether it is a presentation of artists from the academic system or a reflection of popular culture. The works I exhibit this time are one of my more important series, called the "Distance Series". It is a reflection of the distance between traditional culture and modern life, an exploration of the distance between thinking and expression, and a study of the true and visually intuitive distance of people's hearts. I think that exploring formal language is actually a reflection on the mode of thinking between culture and expression, and it is also a continuation of the understanding of life. Just like today's exhibition, I believe it is a useful attempt and understanding of diverse art exploration, and I hope that everyone can find their favorite artworks in this exhibition. Finally, I wish this exhibition a smooth and successful success.
Hello everyone, I'm artist Shen Na. My work belongs to the pop culture unit in the three series of this exhibition, which can be divided into two parts: text and image. The text part has something to do with the emotional experiences in my own life. On the one hand, I used some cartoon images that young people like now, such as the Ghost Face Blade, etc., with the struggle between the forces of good and evil as a large structure, and then used the comprehensive materials of the new experiments in the past two years as the creative language to create. After seeing the name of this exhibition, I have a very special feeling, maybe in the next few years, we will have a deeper understanding of the four words "common law", because we are in a period of drastic changes in the political economy, the state of existence of artists, and the academic development of the art market. I am very much looking forward to the new state of the art world in the near future. Finally, I hope you can enjoy this wonderful meeting in the spring, thank you.
Thank you very much for joining this exhibition, which is more like a report exhibition for the Common Art Center, where you can see artists who have had solo exhibitions together, as well as artists who will have solo exhibitions soon. We divide this exhibition into three parts, the first part focuses on the exploration of the language of painting, and these artists have a common characteristic, that is, they all have academic backgrounds and already have a very mature and unique artistic language. The second part focuses on the experimental exploration of the spectrum on the division of space, in which the artist uses different materials to shape the real space on the plane, so that light and color can freely present their physical properties in different spaces, and expand the abstract physical space through creation. This is one of the next areas that our Common Arts Center will focus on. The third part mainly focuses on pop culture, meta-modern artists, you can also see these young artists, in their works, with the traditional Asian culture Oriental aesthetics as the "yuan", combined with their contemporary animation, music, video games, new media films, etc., mutual reference, appropriation, and finally formed a very contemporary art work. The styles they represent are relatively cutting-edge and noteworthy, and we will continue to promote and present the creations of this type of artists. In such an annual report exhibition, it is an honor to invite many ambassadors from the embassy, brands, and many professional collectors as guests, we can communicate more and collide more in this exhibition, so that our art space is more integrated, professional and diversified, thank you.

LIVE STRAIGHT HIT
Art is the way we think, discuss and express. Contemporary art has a complex, rich and fluid pluralistic character.
There should be different art forms as there are many forms of life, and the way of thinking of artistic creation should not be limited to a fixed model.
Therefore, through the creation of 18 young and middle-aged artists, the United Art Center has generated new thinking about reality and the future in the exploration of art.
We seek to discover infinite diversity in this exhibition and express it in a harmonious form, creating a "common law" for future art through endless pluralistic contrasts.
The exhibition consists of three parts:
Part 1 was attended by Chen Zijun, Kang Lei, Wu Song, Ye Henggui, and four artists. The common feature of the four artists lies in the cultivation of the academy system, a mature and unique artistic language. In this section, we will focus on the exploration of the pictorial language of four artists of the academic system.

Common Art Center, 707-b03 Hongshi Square, No.2 Jiuxianqiao Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing, China
Founded in 2015, Common Art Center is the first contemporary art gallery with a crowdfunding membership system in China. The Common Art Center is jointly initiated by experienced curators, art dealers, collectors and other professionals in the field. It is committed to providing professional collection solutions for contemporary art collectors with a new business model. The gallery takes "paper" as the medium and works of media as its main research and management direction, because of the importance of such works in the Chinese art system and the broad development prospect in the future. Using paper and folk art as the medium, the excellent artists make paper as a tool to resist its fate, allowing it to get rid of the veil of function and reveal its own artistic value.
