PREFACE
OPENING CEREMONY
I am very happy to come to the brand-new space of the Common Art Center. The Common Art Center represents the growth process of a Chinese gallery and is very down-to-earth and steady development. TUTU is also the artist who held the first exhibition in this space. I think this brand-new space is very compatible with today's exhibition. Back to TUTU's works, it is actually relatively close to the current international art trend. It is called art in art history. These images are all existing. The artist makes his own changes on the basis of these images. I once said he is a little like the American artist George Condor, but these two people's thinking is completely different. One is the Western way, and the other is Chinese. TUTU does not have that kind of formal abstraction. After watching TUTU's paintings, the mentality that can bring people is youthful because it is filled with childish interest. I also hope the audience who comes today can get some happiness from TUTU's picture.
Today, the first feeling of entering the new space of the Common Art Center is refreshing. I witnessed the establishment of the Common Art Center in the grassland seven years ago and even accompanied it from the croak to the staggering to the gradual growth in the present. When it was once again unveiled for its relocation, we were sincerely happy for the expansion of the gallery space and the further expansion of its influence in the contemporary art circle, as we sincerely applauded the remarkable achievements it has achieved. A complete composition of art ecology, as well as promoting the development and prosperity of art and art ecology, in addition to the artist circles itself, also requires curators, art critics, art groups and institutions, galleries, etc., as well as the interaction of collectors like me, art lovers and audiences, which are indispensable. We are pleased to see that the Common Art Center has gradually formed its own operating model and discourse system in the process of carrying out and assuming the mission of the gallery for seven years. These experiences are particularly precious. I hope the Common Art Center will eventually become one of the best galleries in the capital and across the country. Thank you all!
Congratulations to Bao Yu and the artist for holding this exhibition in a new space. I think art needs different ecology. Bao Yu and I have known each other since 2019, and I greatly encourage and support her. The crowdfunding model of the Common Art Center is very innovative, providing a platform for young artists to develop. I think art is not only academic or market but also college and style. For me, our treatment of art and the spirit of artists are more important. How can we support the growth of different art forms, different art styles and artists with open thinking and a more tolerant mind? Here I am willing to continue to help her.
Thank you for coming to participate in the opening exhibition of the new museum of the Common Art Center during this special period. Our art centre was established in the grass field in 2015 and moved to the 798 Art District in 2019. It was fully upgraded to have the ideal space in 2022. Along the way, I think it is not enough to be a gallery with only feelings, resources and professionalism. The special feature of the Common Art Center is that it has a certain degree of resilience, persistence, accurate self-cognition, adaptability, and so many friends and artists who support and treat us sincerely. I met TUTU after the epidemic, and the epidemic brought a lot of restrictions to everyone, leading to many changes in thinking. TUTU also put aside the academic burden and returned to the heart at this time, creating in a witty and humorous way. It is very in line with the direction of the common art centre. In fact, we have been paying attention to the contemporary transformation of subculture, traditional Chinese folk culture and oriental aesthetics. Graffiti has a rebellious spirit in the West, but TuTu has its own attitude towards the world, a kind of Northeast-style tease, just like laughing and joking, but also has a profound and connotative style of doing things. TUTU exhibited two series this time, the King Series and the Conquest Series. It is also hoped that we can give you more motivation and hope during this epidemic. We also wish that our gallery would establish our own art community service at this new starting point, have its own art rules, and have art residents who love us. Continuing to produce more wonderful output content. Thank you again for coming!
Thank you for the support from afar. I am very touched by the your support. I am also very grateful to Mr. Peng, including Mr. Ma and Su Mang, for your support. It has enhanced my self-confidence and feelings about my work. To be able to hold an exhibition in such an ideal space this time, I would like to thank our common art centre for their serious and careful ways of doing things. I can express my work in a precise way, so our cooperation is also very pleasant. I think this is fate in life. It is my honour to meet the art platform that is predestined to me in the process of life and in the process of my growth. Thank you again, my friends, thank you.

Common Art Center, 707-b03 Hongshi Square, No.2 Jiuxianqiao Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing, China
Founded in 2015, Common Art Center is the first contemporary art gallery with a crowdfunding membership system in China. The Common Art Center is jointly initiated by experienced curators, art dealers, collectors and other professionals in the field. It is committed to providing professional collection solutions for contemporary art collectors with a new business model. The gallery takes "paper" as the medium and works of media as its main research and management direction, because of the importance of such works in the Chinese art system and the broad development prospect in the future. Using paper and folk art as the medium, the excellent artists make paper as a tool to resist its fate, allowing it to get rid of the veil of function and reveal its own artistic value.
