Xun Yi (real name Yang Kai, artistic name Xun Yi), a contemporary artist, painter, and lecturer, was born in Hengshan, Hunan Province in 1986. He holds a master's degree from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 2008, he received the first-prize Wang Jialian Scholarship at the 8th Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. His major solo exhibitions include "Calm Turbulence: Yang Kai's Works Exhibition" at Today Art Museum in Beijing. His major group exhibitions include the "3rd CAFAM Biennale" at the Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum in Beijing. His works are widely collected by Today Art Museum and other Chinese and foreign art museums, foundations, and important private collectors. He primarily engages in academic research and creation in the fields of "Contemporary Painting (Oil Painting)", "Experimental Art", and "Contemporary Art".
